Kids Party Favors - Handmade to Match Any Birthday Party Theme!
It has become quite a tradition to send off guests at a childs birthday party with a fun little favor, goodie bag, or small treat. It is a nice way to thank your guests for coming, and children look forward to enjoying the surprises they may find inside of them.
One of the nicest things about a party favor is that it can be easily used as a decoration as well. If you are having a set table, place a favor in the center of each child's plate. Not only does it serve as a decoration, but as a type of seating place card also. If you are handing out the favors as your guests leave you can sprinkle the favors throughout tables at the party, or place them in a large basket. Whatever you choose to do, your favors can function as one of the party decorations saving you a little time in that department!
Party favors for kids parties come in all types, shapes, and sizes, and can match any birthday party theme. If you are looking for some unique favors that can easily be handmade and customized to your child's party theme, check out these fun and easy ideas!

Cookies On A Stick
Candy - Wrapped and Decorated!
Kid Favorite - Crayons and Drawing Paper!

Kids party favors don't always have to be edible! Kids love receiving a box of new crayons and drawing paper! This party favor lends itself to the younger crowd of kids, but can easily be adapted to older children by adding a "tween" theme! Very simply done, these cute favors were made using scrapbooking paper and ribbon. Paper was cut to size matching the front covers of a drawing pad and small box of crayons, Using a gluestick, generously apply glue to the edges of the paper and adhere to the pad. Do the same with a box of crayons, and tie up with a bright colored ribbon. Wala! A great favor for any party. So easy to customize to any birthday party theme!

These party favors are a version of the old fashioned ones where treats were cleverly hidden inside. To make this favor put small little candies such as gummie bears, m & m's, or miniature tootsie rolls in a snack size zip lock bag. Tuck the treats inside a toilet paper roll or similar cardboard tube. Push a piece of colored tissue paper in each of the ends. Next, measure the length of the tube and the distance around it. Add approximately 1/2 inch to the distance around. Using these measurements cut a rectangle from gift wrapping paper to fit around the tube. Roll the gift wrap around the tube and glue the edges together. Use a gluestick as your glue so it does not leak through the paper as most gift wrap is thin and lightweight. Next cut a piece of cellophane approximately 4 inches longer than the favor. Wrap the treat in the cellophane twisting the ends as you go. No need to glue the cellophane! The twisted ends somehow magically keep it in place! Tie the ends of with wired ribbon or curling ribbon. You can easily customize this party favor to match your party by using a gift wrap which matches your theme! This is a great treat for girls princess parties as you can make them look very elegant!
Cookies On A Stick
This is a fun and unique party favor that is very simple and quick to make. Bu
y some large, soft, cookies......not too soft as the cookies will break. Molasses cookies are a good bet! I used a large sugar cookie for this one. Insert a wooden dowel or popsicle stick into the cookie. I had some left over chopsticks so that is what I used. Skewers can be used too if the cookie is not to heavy. Wrap the cookie in a tight cling plastic wrap. tie ribbons at the base and curl. For the flower favor, I traced a circle from cardstock paper the size of the cookie. I then made 7 circles using a 1 and 11/16 inch circle punch. Using a gluestick, I glued the circles onto the cardstock. I then put a very strong double sided tape on the cardstock part of the flower making sure I covered the circle completely. I gently adhered the wrapped cookie on a stick to the flower background. To make this party favor even more special you can dispay it in an individual vase with some basket shred tucked around the edges to help it stand. How cute!
Candy - Wrapped and Decorated!
Here is a very inexpensive fun party favor idea that is fast and affordable! Using scrapbooking papers, stickers, rubber stamps, ribbons and buttons you can create a t
reat that your child's guests will enjoy! You can wrap candy bars of any size, granola bars or cereal bars, or individual packages of popcorn. For the party favor shown here I used a Hershey Chocolate Bar. First, tape down the ends of the candy bar to the center. Next, wrap the candy bar as you would wrap a present with some lightweight paper. I used a lightweight foil paper. This makes your underneath layer. Cut out a rectangle which will wrap around your candy bar, leaving about 1/8 inch showing on each edge. Wrap this second layer over the first and glue together the edges on the back of the bar. Decorate with stickers, ribbons, buttons, etc... HOW SIMPLE!

Cool and Colorful Containers!
If you know kids, you know that they like to have little containers to play with and for putting their found treasures in! Make an easy birthday party favor using plastic containers, scrapbooking supplies, stickers, and ribbon. This one shown here is made from a cake frosting container. You may have to ask your friends and neighbors to save containers for you! Starting with a clean container, wrap colorful scrapbooking paper or wrapping paper around the can. Adorn with stickers and ribbons. Inside the container, put a little basket shred and a few treats and trinkets. Replace the plastic lid and add ribbons to the top as well! Children will be delighted with their cool container, and can use it for their collectibles long after the treats are gone!
If you use any of these ideas let me know! Send a post and a picture of your party favor. I'd love to see how they turned out! Everyone is so creative and it's fun to see the individual little "twists" that people come up with!

Fast and Fabulous 4th of July
With less than a week away from the Fourth of July, it's due time to think about the big barbecue, and how you can make it red, white, and true blue festive! Put on your patriotic hat and create these easy favors and decorations that will bring about that All American feel.....even if your short on time and short on budget!
What you need:
Hershey Milk Chocolate Nuggets
Scrapbooking paper in red, white, and blue
Gluestick
Cellophane bags- (Mine were 4 X 5 1/2 inches.)
Cut your paper into 1 x 3 1/4 inch strips, wrap around the candy, and glue ends together. Sprinkle these around the table, set in a dish or put in cellophane bags for favors! For a cellophane bag topper, cut a piece of decorative paper 4 x 5 inches, fold in half, and decorate. Attach to the cellophane bag with gluestick. It's that easy!
Fire Cracker Favors
Candy in roll form, such as life savers
Scrapbooking papers in red, white, and blue
Lightweight string or ribbon
Small circle punch (optional)
Gluestick
Wrap the paper around the candy, gluing the long edge with a glue stick. Trace the top of the candy for a circular shape and cut out, or use a small circle punch if you have one. Puncture a small hole in the top center of the circle. Loop a small piece of string, (about 3/4 inch) and insert through the circle. Glue string ends to underneath side of circle and attach to the top of the candy roll to complete the fire cracker.
Patriotic Pinwheels
Scrapbooking papers in red, white, and blue
Ribbon
Buttons
Buttons
Skewers
Ruler
Gluestick
Stapler
For each pinwheel, cut two 5 inch squares. Glue the two squares together (or use double sided tape) so you have "reversible" paper. Measure 2 1/2 inches from each edge and mark the center of the square. From each corner on the square, draw a 2 3/4 line toward the center. Cut along each line being careful that each is accurately cut the same length. From each of the four sections, fold the right corner toward the middle. Staple in place. Glue a button in the middle and attach ribbons where you'd like! Glue pinwheel onto a skewer.....a festive decoration for the fourth!
Super Easy... But Oh So Great Table Candles!
What you need:
Glass candle holders
Scrapbooking papers in patriotic colors
Scrapbooking papers in patriotic colors
Gluestick
Wrap red, white, and blue papers around candle holders and glue. Try using various sizes of candle holders and sprinkle around your tables, patios, or decks. This is an instant, yet effective holiday decoration that looks fab!
Red, White, and Blue Strawberry Skewer Rockets!
Wooden Skewers
Curling ribbon
Star cookie cutter or star punch
Scrapbooking papers
Cut out two star shapes. You may do as I did and trace the shape from a star cookie cutter, or use a large star hand punch if you have one. Push three or four strawberries onto a wooden skewer. Glue the two star shapes onto its tip. Attatch curling ribbon under the star and curl. Cut a cirlcle or another star shape and slide onto skewer underneath the strawberries. Tie more curling ribbon underneath.
